ALL ADVERTISEMENTS/GRAPHICS ARE MADE IN INDESIGN

As an Art Director at Publishers Clearing House I was responsible for ~1-2 mailings weekly. Each mailing consist of ~30 advertisements. Spotlight and featured advertisements get “Doorbuster” or “Deal of the Day” treatments meant to catch the eye of the consumer. I had full control over the typography, layout, and overall design of each advertisement. There were certain elements I couldn’t design due to them being package/mailing specific such as the savings bursts.

This was one of my main responsibilities as an Art Director. We would send the instructions through an online program to the photo studio. I had full creative access when it came to these decisions including lighting, mood, surfaces/backgrounds used, camera angles, positioning, propping, models, etc. Sometimes you would use reference images to help get your idea across or create a mock-up in Photoshop for the photographers to follow.

Here are some examples of the work I’ve made while at Publishers Clearing House. There are strict guidelines & brand identities to follow but I showcase the ability to come up with creative designs & layouts. This includes experience with product advertisements for brands such as Disney, NFL, Coca Cola & many more. Certain ads include an eye-popping Doorbuster or Deal of the Day graphic treatment meant to catch the eye of the consumer. I’ve made the majority of these treatments in Adobe InDesign (yes.. this is as painful as it sounds haha). One of my favorite parts of the overall process is directing the photography for the new products in my mailings. Advertisements like these are on a tight schedule and a major part of my workflow so I’ve been responsible for hundreds.
