ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Peter McKenzie and I’m a man who decided to turn his love into a profession. Design has always attracted my attention not only byt the beauty but also by the ability to convey meaning. As a designer, my mission is to use my creativity and skills to solve problems, inspire emotions, and enhance experiences through thoughtful and intentional design.

  • Coming in as a walk-on athlete and earning a full scholarship at Stony Brook University’s Division 1 Football Program. If you knew my story you would understand how big of an each achievement this was. My high school record was 2 wins with 30 losses and I was constantly reminded by faculty, students and parents that I had no future in the sport. Instead of letting the noise influence me I decided the only person who can stop me is me. College coaches would watch the film and see I was the best player on the field. This lead to me receiving a walk on opportunity at Stony Brook. It came with changing my position from wide receiver to full back which is a major difference. Still I held my ground and believed in myself earning my full ride my junior year. I’ve established a solid mindset where whatever I put my mind to I can accomplish. It is a lesson I will carry throughout the career and life.

  • It all started with gaming in high school. My friends and I had a video game clan but we needed an editor. I was always in love with animation/effects so delved deeper. This start with a free program called GIMP where I first learned my photo manipulation skills. Certain Youtube Editors inspired me to pick up After Effects and I became educating myself. I am primarily self taught in Grpahic Design as my university didn’t have it as a major. I’ve grown simply through my drive and dedication to pursue further education in this realm.

  • I’ve been an athlete my entire life playing Football, Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, and also pentathlon in track. Major life skills such as accountability, collaboration, leadership, and courage I wouldn’t be familiar with otherwise. I am also a huge fan of japenese anime & videogames. It’s beautiful getting lost in worlds created by brilliant minds and it inspires me knowing there is so much more to learn. Lastly, I used to sing competitively and have started to reconnect with it. I plan on uploading videos to my social media to share my talent with the world.
